SEPTEMBER NRA ACTION PISTOL: (Sholar Powell)
The monthly match was sparsely attended, but those who came had a good time busting steel plates and hosing moving paper. The October
match will be the last match of 2001, and will be our annual "cookout". Grilled venison, potato salad, and hushpuppies are on the menu. If
you don't make but one match a year, make it October. Hope to see you then. Here are the winners for September:

BACK TO SCHOOL OPEN SKEET SHOOT: (Report by Fred Welfare) September 9, 2001
Twelve shooters braved intermittent rain to participate. The temperature was at least cooler than it was for the August affair. The targets did
not seem to notice the difference, and in accord with our conservation policy "several" of them were left for seed. Jerry Rouse took class E
with a 42, Nick King took class D with a 34, and Ron Hearn took class C with a 46. In class B, Ray Campbell and Fred Welfare were tied at
46. Ray emerged the winner following a short (very short) shoot-off of doubles at stations 3, 4, and 5.
The skeet shooters will be back for another go at it on the second Sunday in October. Bring the smoke-pole and come join us.
