newsletter. The Secretary had 50 copies printed up and they will be
available at the meetings plus each member who received a mailed copy of the
newsletter has a hard copy which may be duplicated. PLEASE destroy all the
old Membership Application form you presently possess and obtain a new form.

MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT: (Tom McGonigal)
Some of the property stolen from the clubhouse has been recovered as a result of
police action. Those who donated replacement items may have the items returned.
Those items not claimed will be donated to a worthwhile charity.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: (Sholar Powell and Secretary)
All
members are requested to destroy Membership Applications in their possession and
from here on utilize the new Membership Application contained as page 3 and 4
in this newsletter. Yep, the back is upside down from the front but that
makes it easier when the are filed and we need to see the back of the form.
Please make your copies the same. New slots for E-mail addresses, CCW
permit number, signature of sponsoring member plus adding Cowboy Single Action
shooting as a committee have been incorporated into this new form.
PLEASE - Destroy you old Membership Applications and use this new one.

NO MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 9TH: (Secretary Dale Lear)
Due to the lack of a quorum there was no meeting at the clubhouse. Our
By-Laws state "A quorum shall consist of five percent of the membership,
with a minimum of twelve members present." Come on members - this is
your club – YOUR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN RUNNING THE CLUB IS NEEDED!!!
See you the 14th at the Sweetwater Café, 5559 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC.
NON-MEETING INFORMATION:
Tom Morrison advised that 19 Boy Scouts from Troop 215 and 6 BSA Leaders
utilized the club. On Saturday MGySgt David Miller ran the air and .22
instruction and shoots while Deputy Sheriff Arch Jones ran the shotgun
instruction and shoots. All of the scouts qualified for their Merit
Badges. MGySgt Miller was assisted by 2 Seniors from the JROTC, 2 USMC
members and 1 USMC Reservist. Col. Johnson also came to this activity.
They used 5 cases of targets for the Scout shooters. They slept out Friday
and Saturday nights and were out by 8:30 A.M. on Sunday after the Scouts policed
up the club. Four Scouts from other Troops participated 3 of whom were
from Fairmont.
David Jones would like to use the club facilities for BSA Troop 242 of
Wrightsville Beach on Saturday, December 7th. It will be a one day
activity for Scouts to qualify for Merit Badges.
Don Sloop requests 1 skeet field be reserved on September 28th for the Brunswick
County Chapter of the Green Wings shoot.
Fred Welfare advised that they had 16 shooters at yesterdays skeet match and
three were 1st time non-members. John Scott shot 50 in Class B, Nick
King shot 49 in Class C and Dan Montgomery shot 46 in Class D.

PLEASE - IF YOU TAKE TARGETS OUT OF THE SHED YOU SHOULD PUT THEM BACK WHEN YOU
ARE FINISHED SHOOTING.
NO LOADED CONCEALED WEAPONS ARE TO BE CARRIED TO THE FIRING LINE AS WE ARE A
COLD RANGE CLUB.
PLEASE - DO NOT SHOOT CENTER FIRE RIFLES AT SILHOUETTE TARGETS NOR ANY FIREARM
AT THE ACTION PISTOL BARRICADES ON WHICH ARE SIGNS STATING "DO NOT SHOOT
BARRICADES."
