Members.....Don't forget we have a club store that carries reloading supplies like bird shot, shotgun wads in various sizes, primers for shotgun, pistol and rifle reloading...We can also special order powder and other goodies that we don't stock.....I was by the other day and we still have a good stock of lead bullets for reloading pistol shells....I noticed we have bullets for 45ACP, 38/357, 44, 9mm, 40 S&W. Phone # is 762-9626...ask for Hidy...it's always a good idea to call before you go by and also to get directions ........Ray C.

OCTOBER ACTION PISTOL MATCH (Sholar Powell): We had a good turnout for the last match of the year, and everybody piled into lunch on KFC yardbird, slaw and biscuits. Also had some youngsters out for the match, including the Liquid Mercury on the Hill Gang (Avery, Bailey and Colby) and the Dumas Boys (Cooper & Trenton). Avery shot the Falling Plate match, and ended up in a shoot-off with John Haney, a new shooter. Avery finally wore John down, and walked away with the win. Ray Jackson and Don Pelling had a shoot off in Plate as well, with Ray taking the honors, and a reluctant plate almost leading to some stiff discussion on Don’s string. Dumas and Kevin did the work as Range Officers and this helped the other shooters get ready to shoot rather than working the match. Ray ate enough chicken to coat his guns with grease, so he won’t be oiling them for another six months or so. Della Bella continues to crank out perfect scores like a copying machine.....good benchmark for everybody else. We had 8 shooters in all, and a fine match to wrap up the season. Winners as shown below....see you when we crank up again in April.

Regulator Gazette
October 1897
Headline: "Open Range" Regulator Style
We had 7 Regulators show up for this months shootout so it made for a fast match....We shot the normal 4 stages in record time and since everybody was still pretty frosty we decided to shoot a stage that covered the entire town of Regulatorville. So stage 5 covered the entire town. Shooting started in the jail with 10 rifle shots......Regulators then ran over and defended Fort Regulator with numerous shotgun blasts.....Then we mounted up on Old Blue (Our headless horse) and shot five badguys at a full stride with pistol number one......We then dismounted at the Bleeding Heart Saloon busted through the swinging doors and took out five more bad guys with pistol number two.....Sounds sort of like "Open Range" huh???
Scores for the match went like this....
Regulators.....Only two....Dick Holliday, Deacon Dave
Old Regulators..(Seniors) Carbine Kid, Ragtime, Black Smith, Tom Two Feathers,
Cowgirl........Carolina Rose
Be sure to be with us next month on the third Saturday for another fun filled match. After the match we plan to shoot the long rifles at the "Quigley Bucket" so bring one if you wish and blast away with us....As always if you want to shoot and don't have a long rifle yet, you can shoot one of ours as long as the ammo holds out......300 yards from the bench is the plan for now if you want to work on your sights in the meantime.....Since Wild Willy Storck has won the last bucket match or two he will be required to shoot from horseback and must be blindfolded. See you at the next match so until then.......Take a kid shooting.......Ned Bluntline
